Embarcadero History & Photo Tour
Experience the historical side of San Diego on this walking tour of the downtown waterfront along San Diego’s Embarcadero. Starting in front of the Maritime Museum’s fascinating collection of ships, this 1.5-mile, 1.5-hour walking tour along San Diego’s Embarcadero covers the full range of San Diego’s history from the days of the Kumeyaay to the region’s first sighting by Spanish explorers; through San Diego’s important aviation firsts; and the key role the city and bay played for the Navy, especially during World War II.
There will be plenty of opportunities and stops for photos as the tour covers architecture, art, baseball history, and some of the famous movies shot in San Diego. Passing by Dead Man’s point and tuna harbor you will end at the jail cells of the old police headquarters.
